logo surf Surf 100Å: Premium Fully Porous Silica for Superior Chromatography.
Our Surf 100Å particles are composed of highly pure silica (>99.99% SiO2), with extremely low metal content (Na, Ti, Ca, Mg, Al, Fe, Zr < 1 ppm). This near-inert silica makes Surf ideal
for a wide range of bio-pharmaceutical applications, providing unmatched performance and reliability.

Key Features of Surf 100Å Silica:

  • Narrow Particle and Pore Size Distribution: The particles are almost monodisperse,
with a uniform porosity. Nearly all pores are open-ended, giving the following
    benefits:
    • Excellent permeability
    • Enhanced accessibility to the bonded surface
    • Narrow, well-shaped peaks
    • Easier packing process
    • Superior packing density
  • Low Porous Volume: Surf silica has one of the lowest porous volumes available, resulting in reduced dead volume in the column. This allows for earlier elution of the void volume (T?), enabling shorter run times—without compromising selectivity or particle size.

Surf 100Å is engineered to tackle nearly every chromatographic challenge, making it the perfect solution for R&D, QA/QC, and industrial laboratories in both HPLC and UHPLC applications..Versatile Surface Functionalization.

Our Surf columns are available with pore sizes of 100Å and a specific surface area of 300 m²/g, functionalized through advanced monofunctional and trifunctional modifications. These modifications are complemented by innovative end-capping technologies, such as:

  • Single-step liquid phase end-capping with hydrophobic, polar, or charged modifiers
  • Double-step gas phase end-capping for complete surface coverage, using various agent types
This combination allows for specific selectivity, including unique chemistries like Polar + TriF modifications.
Available Configurations:
  • Particle Sizes: 1,7µm, 3µm, 3,5µm, 5µm, 10µm, 15µm
  • Bonding Types: C18, C8, C4, C30, Phényl, Phényl-Hexyl, CN, NH2, Diol & Silice.
  • Column Inner Diameters: 2,1, 3,0, 3,9, 4,0, 4,6, 10, 20, 30 & 50 mm.
  • Column Lengths: 33, 50, 60, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250 & 300 mm.

These columns are an excellent choice for optimizing validated classical methods and for developing new analytical methods.

Packing technology:

Our advanced packing technology ensures optimal compaction of silica beads within the column, delivering superior performance and longevity. Each stationary phase uses a specifically designed iso-density slurry, which incorporates electrostatic effect suppressors to enhance slurry homogeneity during the packing process, especially with sub-2.0µm particles. This results in each silica bead being perfectly aligned and balanced with the others, achieving an exceptionally high bed density for superior chromatographic results

Our Surf columns are known for their reproducibility, repeatability, and extended column lifespan.

360 consecutive injections on a Surf C18 1.7µm, 100 x 2.1 mm column demonstrate the durability and reliability of our technology.

High-Performance Columns for Modern Chromatography Needs:

Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) has become the standard platform for the identification and quantification of molecules in most R&D laboratories. It dramatically reduces run times without sacrificing resolution between critical compound pairs, significantly increasing the number of analyses performed each day.
For example, maintaining equivalent resolution, a method using a 150 x 4.6 mm, 5µm column can be reduced ninefold in runtime with a 50 x 2.1 mm, 1.7µm column. This
advancement supports the separation of complex mixtures and improves the characterization of separated compounds, whether small organic molecules, peptides, polypeptides, or proteins.

Superior Column Technology
To achieve such high performance, the chromatography column, the heart of any LC system, must be equally advanced. The development of sub-2 ?m silica and superficially porous
materials has been critical in supporting these advancements.
At imChem, we have perfected fully porous silica and column packing technologies to provide long-lasting, efficient, and reproducible 1.7µm packed columns. Our ultra-pure,
perfectly spherical, and inert silica technology ensures consistency in chromatographic behavior across different particle sizes, making it easy to transfer classical methods from 5µm to 1.7µm columns without compromising performance.
